Yesterday, the Dev-Team announced that there will not be a jailbreak coming for iOS 4.0.2. That is not because of they are facing trouble on it but they are not going to bother making one at all. And they also claim that they do not want to be drawn into a game of ‘cat and mouse’ with Apple.
If you managed to get an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.1 and earlier, you can still use the remarkably simple and straightforward solution at Jailbreakme.com to break through the shackles. That still works. However, if you’ve upgraded to iOS 4.0.2 or you bought a device that came preloaded with it then you’re pretty much out of luck.
