Pre-orders for Windows 8 running touch screen PCs ASUS TAICHI 21 and ASUS VivoBook X2002 have started prior to the official unveiling in New York City on October 23rd.
The dual-screened ASUS TAICHI 21 convertible laptop features an 11.6-inch IPS Full HD display (1920 x 1080) with 10-finger touch for notebook and tablet functionality,packs 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3317U (1.7GHz) or Intel Core i7-3517U (1.9GHz) processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB/256GB SSD.
The TAICHI 21-DH51 with a Core i5 CPU and a 128 GB SSD costs $1,299 while the 21-DH71 with a Core i7 chip and a 256 GB drive goes for $1,599. 
The ASUS VivoBook X202 is an $600 entry level notebook with an 11.6-inch LED Backlight HD (1366X768) capacitive touch panel with multi-touch functionality, a 1.8GHz 3rd generation Intel Core i3-3217U processor, 4GB of RAM and a conventional 500GB hard drive.
