LG’s new entry-level smartphone LG E400 Optimus L3 popped up on Swedish retailer CDON website, running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with LG's Optimus UI. This device features a 3.2-inch QVGA (320x240 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, a 3MP camera, WiFi , Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio and a microSD card slot. The LG Optimus L3 is up for pre-order with a price of 1290SEK ($190) contract free and will be in stock by February 27th.
Apple today released Final Cut Pro X v10.0.3, a significant update to its revolutionary professional video editing application, which introduces multicam editing that automatically syncs up to 64 angles of video and photos; advanced chroma keying for handling complex adjustments right in the app; and enhanced XML for a richer interchange with third party apps and plug-ins that support the fast growing Final Cut Pro X ecosystem. Motorola announced the availability of the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition with unlockable bootloader,which is now available for pre-order in Europe for €499. Motorola doesn’t mentioned any exact date, when it will start shipping but promises this smartphone will make it to the US as well “in the coming months”.

LG announced that sales of its Optimus LTE smartphone have exceeded over one million units, putting it at the forefront of the emerging LTE era. The world’s first HD LTE smartphone, the Optimus LTE is currently available in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea.

Sony announced that those who placed pre-orders of PS Vita First Edition Bundle, will receive 250MB of data from AT&T and a PlayStation Network (PSN) game (as soon as you activate the 3G on the device) along with promised PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game. Last month, HP announced that webOS would be made available under an open source license, with continued support from HP, now they are taking one step further and announced Enyo framework, a free developer tool that enables developers to write a single application that works across mobile devices and desktop web browsers, from the webOS, iOS and Android platforms to the Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers – and more. Both Enyo 2.0 and it’s source code is now available for download.

Sony told the Verge that it is going to update Tablet P and Tablet S to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this spring, which means we can expect something around March. Sony also revealed it’s plan to add "some really cool unique bits"on the top of Android 4.0 but didn’t explain these bit. Sony today announced the development of two CMOS image sensor models designed for use in smartphones and other devices. They are equipped with Sony's unique “RGBW Coding” function which allows images to be captured with low noise and high picture quality even in low-light conditions. They also contain Sony's “HDR (High Dynamic Range) Movie” function which allows brilliant color to be captured even in bright settings. Sony has also developed a model with built-in signal processing functionality, an element that usually requires external embedment.
Sony today announced that it has developed a new next-generation back-illuminated CMOS image sensor which embodies the continuous evolution of the camera. This image sensor layers the pixel section containing formations of back-illuminated structure pixels onto chips containing the circuit section for signal processing, which is in place of supporting substrates for conventional back-illuminated CMOS image sensors. This structure achieves further enhancement in image quality, superior functionalities and a more compact size that will lead to enhanced camera evolution.

The b4 version of redsn0w incorporates the 5.0.1 fix for iBooks, and also for sporadic problems with launchctl. Thanks to @xvolks for merging the iBooks (sandbox) fix from @comex’s github into the overall corona untether from @pod2g! As usual, you can choose to install the fix either by re-running redsn0w over your existing jailbreak (de-select Cydia if you do that), or by installing the corona package from Cydia (it’s the same set of files no matter which way you choose).
Saurik twitted that an update to the Corona Untethered Jailbreak has been released in Cydia which fixes issues for iBooks and launchd and it’s recommended to the users who previously jailbroke their A4 devices, to install the Corona package from Cydia.
Successor of DROID RAZR smartphone, DROID RAZR MAXX unveiled at CES with support for Verizon Wireless’ network, but no specific info on when it might hit the shelves but it appears that Motorola let slip on its website that the device would be launched on January 26th from Motorola and Verizon.

Plextor announces the release of its latest External Slim DVD/CD Writer, PX-612U, with PlexTV at the CES 2012. PlexTV is a new feature enabling Plextor's DVD/CD drive to work with televisions, media players, and other USB-enabled devices. The external drive connects directly to the desired display via USB cable and the user is able to access information stored on a CD or DVD without a PC. PlexTV will be available exclusively with the PX-612U during the first quarter of 2012.
Boost Mobile and LG today announced LG Marquee will be available on January 23rd for $279.99 (excluding taxes) at Boost Mobile stores, followed by everywhere else at the end of February. Microsoft and LG have signed a patent agreement that provides broad coverage under Microsoft's patent portfolio for LG's tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices running the Android or Chrome OS Platform. The contents of the agreement have not been disclosed.
