Sony Mobile announced the two new Xperia Smartphones: Xperia go and Xperia acro S for those looking for premium specifications and beautiful design with extra durability and water resistance. First up, the Xperia go features a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 Scratch resistant mineral glass display with wet finger tracking, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, running Android 2.3 (upgradable to Android 4.0), a 5MP camera and 8GB of internal phone storage. You can choose from white, black and yellow color options when the phone arrives in Q3 this year.

Xperia acro S boasts a 4.3-inch 720p HD Reality Display, a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, a 12MP camera, launching on Android 4.0,  NFC enabled and PlayStation certified. It features IP55 and IP57 Ratings for dust and water resistance and will be available in black, white and pink color options.

Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 Update ready to roll out

Looks like Google and Verizon is ready to roll out the Android 4.0.4 software update (IMM76K) for Galaxy Nexus by Samsung. The 39.8 MB update bring the following improvements and fixes:-

Email, Messaging & Data

• Email messages will display properly when the text size is set to large.
• When sending a multimedia message to an Outlook email address, the file extension will send, allowing the recipient to successfully open an image.
• Successfully deleted emails on the device will be deleted from the desktop as well.
• Successfully send text messages without experiencing network connectivity issues.

Applications

• When viewing a Calendar reminder or appointment, you will now be able to view the full notes associated with the appointment.

Nokia Lumia 900 Batman Edition heading to the UK

Nokia is likely to introduce Nokia Lumia 900 Batman Edition in selected European markets - including the UK (via Phones4U), France, and Germany in the coming weeks.

According to Pocket-lint, Nokia’s current Windows Phone device Nokia Lumia 800 has 'extremely limited Batman edition', too and will come in black and have the Batman logo laser etched into the polycarbonate body.

Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker tool can now Access iCloud Backups

Elcomsoft earlier this week announced that it discovered another way to access information stored in Apple iOS devices by retrieving online backups from Apple iCloud storage. The new feature has been added to its Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker tool allowing anyone who discovers your Apple ID and password to download entire iCloud backup and that too without your knowledge.

ElcomSoft researchers analyzed the communication protocol connecting iPhone users with Apple iCloud, and were able to emulate the correct commands in order to retrieve the content of iOS users’ iCloud storage. It’s important to note that, unlike offline backups that may come encrypted and must be broken into (a time-consuming operation), data retrieved from iCloud is received in plain, unencrypted form . The 5GB  of storage space can be retrieved in reasonable time, while receiving incremental updates is even faster. The ability to retrieve iCloud backups is now part of Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker. Existing customers are welcome to upgrade.

LG introduces new Optimus UI 3.0

LG is introducing a new User Interface (UI) for its newest Android Ice Cream Sandwich devices, aptly named Optimus UI 3.0. Optimus UI 3.0 brings with it an array of enhanced key features, including Quick Memo and unique unlock functions, among other new features and functions aimed at improving LG smartphone experience.

Optimus UI 3.0 is designed with convenience and speed in mind. A powerful memo function called Quick Memo enables users to jot notes on the screen using a finger. Quick Memo in Optimus UI 3.0 allows users to share their thoughts through social networks, text messages and e-mails more conveniently than ever before.

Other new features include:

• the ability to unlock the phone by dragging anywhere on the screen;
• a new Pattern Lock that allows users to preset the most frequently used function, such as the camera, which automatically opens once the phone is unlocked;
• a simpler version of Optimus UI 3.0 for new smartphone users which organizes the main applications so that they are the easiest to access;
• a new Voice Shutter that allows users to capture photos using only voice commands;
• a special camera feature that enables users to pick up the best shot among multiple images including the moment just before the shutter button is depressed;
• an Icon Customizer that provides an additional level of personalization by allowing users to set their own photos as icons and shortcut images;

Lenovo announced the Lenovo ThinkStation E31, an entry-level workstation for professionals requiring a powerful desktop workstation within a PC budget. Offered as a mini-tower or small form factor (SFF) both include choices of  Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 v2 or 3rd Generation Intel Core i7 Processors.

Both models offer professional graphics capabilities with the option of Intel HD Graphics P4000 or NVIDIA Quadro Graphic cards (up to the Q4000 in the tower model and Q600 in the SFF). The E31 ThinkStation can handle up to 9TB of storage for the tower model or 6TB on the Small Form Factor. Regardless of size you'll get nine USB ports, including four of the 3.0 variety and up to 32 GB of RAM.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy Note rolling out now
