Some of the latest rumors suggested that October 21 would be the day when the first handsets running under Microsoft's new mobile operating system are put on sale.
In addition to confirming the release date for the new device, an internal document from O2 Germany, leaked into the wild courtesy of WMPoweruser, also unveils info on the handset's price tag.
The Windows Phone 7 device will be released on the 42nd week of the year, confirming the 18th October release date rumored elsewhere. The handset will cost 79 euro on O2 Germany on a 24 month 20 Euro per month contract, and 559 Euro commitment free.
