Samsung announced the Galaxy Grand 2, successor to its most popular smartphone Samsung Galaxy Grand. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is a mid-range dual SIM Android smartphone features 5.25-inch HD (1280x720) TFT display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor running Android 4.3, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory expandable via microSD up to 64GB and 8MP rear facing camera and  1.9MP HD camera in front. Moto G - Affordable Android Smartphone

I apologize for not posting on AKSGEEK for so long, but yes, I'm still alive and back. Starting with the biggest news of  this week for those who looking for affordable android smartphone, Motorola, a Google company – announced the android smartphone Moto G. Available in Brazil and parts of Europe 8GB and 16GB storage capacities for USD$179 and USD$199 respectively, will be available within the next few weeks throughout Latin America, Europe, Canada and parts of Asia. It will hit US, India, the Middle East and more of Asia in early January.

The Moto G featured a 4.5 inch (1280 x 720 HD, 329 ppi) display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (with a guaranteed upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat at the beginning of 2014), 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1.3MP front camera and 5MP rear shooter with LED flash, and 2070mAh battery which will last up to 24 hours of mixed usage. Sony Announced Xperia SP and Xperia L

Sony Mobile Communication announced two new Xperia Smartphone - Xperia SP and Xperia L.

Xperia SP features Super-bright 4.6-inch 1280x720p HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, an 8MP camera on the back "Exmor RS for mobile", NFC, LTE, 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Dual Core processor and 8GB internal memory expandable via microSD card.

A 4.3-inch Xperia L packs an FWVGA display, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 processor, 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), NFC and an 8 megapixel camera with Sony’s unique “Exmor RS for mobile” sensor technology and front facing VGA camera.

Verizon rolls out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update for Galaxy Nexus

Starting today, Verizon has started rolling out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Nexus in phases.

The new software update includes a new Gesture Keyboard along with the option to place widgets on the lock screen such as Calendar, Gmail and Clock, and other enhancements . It also includes new camera features such as photosphere to take 360 degree panoramic pictures that can easily be shared with friends, also has a new tool to add filters and borders, further customizing pictures.

Huawei's First Windows Phone 8 smartphone - Ascend W1 Announced

Huawei at the 2013 CES today announced its first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, HUAWEI Ascend W1. Featuring a 4-inch IPS LCD 480 x 800 touchscreen display, Ascend W1 powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and Adreno 305 GPU. It comes in an array of bold colors including blue, red, black and white - offers 470 hours of standby time with a 1950 mAh battery.

The HUAWEI Ascend W1 will be available in China and Russia from January 2013, with Western Europe, Middle East, USA and other selected countries to follow.

Huawei Launches Flagship Ascend D2

At the 2013 CES, Huawei unveiled the the HUAWEI Ascend D2 runs Android 4.1. It features a 5-inch FHD IPS+ 443 PPI Super Retina LCD display, Huawei’s K3V2 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU, a 13 MP BSI camera, WiFi and supports Dolby surrounding sound and stereo recording.

With its 3,000mAh battery and Huawei’s proprietary Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) battery efficiency technology, the Ascend D2 has a stand-by time of six days on WCDMA .

Available in pure white and crystal blue, the HUAWEI Ascend D2 will also be produced in a 4.7-inch screen version. The HUAWEI Ascend D2 will be on sale in China in January 2013, and in Japan in the future.

Huawei at CES 2013 announced the HUAWEI Ascend Mate, a phone/tablet with a 6.1-inch HD display. Ascend Mate powered by its own Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, running Android 4.1 features 1280 x 720 resolution, an 8-megapixel AF rear-facing camera with HDR, 1.0-megapixel HD front-facing camera and a 4050 mAh battery.

Verizon to launch Samsung ATIV Odyssey Windows Phone 8

Samsung announced that the Samsung ATIV Odyssey will be available in the coming weeks at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online. The ATIV Odyssey boasts a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display (800x480) and is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core running Windows Phone 8 operating system.
