Google: Android Not Optimized for Tablets

Tablet

Google’s Hugo Barra says that Android 2.2 platform, known as Froyo, has not been optimized for tablets. It’s for phones!

Barra noted that "Android is an open platform, and we saw at IFA 2010 all sorts of devices running Android, so it's already running on tablets, but the way Android Market works is it's not going to be available on devices that don't allow applications to run correctly."

Although Gingerbread and Honeycomb have been strongly tipped to be tablet-friendly versions of Android, this is the first time Google has confirmed Froyo isn't a platform for iPad rivals.

It’s really a heartbreak for all those who are eagerly waiting for the possibility of good Android Tablet.
