Today, HP expanding a voluntary battery recall and replacement program which includes certain model series manufactured from July 2007 through May 2008 – and want to make sure that your laptop batteries aren’t affected.
If your machine was also part of the previous recalls, HP's saying those should be verified as well, even if you've done so in the past already. This isn’t a recall of notebook PCs, just the affected batteries. Even if your notebook is listed as part of the recall, it does not guarantee that your serial number is impacted. Those eligible will receive a replacement pack for each verified, recalled pack at no cost.
