Lenovo intros ThinkPad Helix - "Rip and Flip" Ultrabook and IdeaPad Yoga 11S

Lenovo announced two new additions to its family of convertible laptop-tablet devices: the ThinkPad Helix, featuring a “rip and flip” design and a more powerful and productive IdeaPad Yoga 11S, the first multimode mini Ultrabook.

The ThinkPad Helix - convertible Ultrabook can be used in several different positions uses a unique “rip and flip” design that lets user to remove the display and then re-attach it in the opposite orientation. It comes equipped with intel Core i3 processor ( upgradable to Core i7 processor), features an 11.6-inch 1080p IPS multi-touch display, a 5-megapixel rear camera,  a 2-MP front-facing shooter, NFC and optional 3G/4G connectivity.

On the other hand, flip and fold, 360° hinge IdeaPad Yoga convertibles - IdeaPad Yoga 11S comes equipped with 3rd generation Intel Core i5 processor, running Windows 8, features 11.6-inch HD IPS display that supports 10 finger multi-touch, can accommodate up to 8GB of RAM and is just 0.68-inch thick.

The ThinkPad Helix and IdeaPad Yoga 11S convertibles will be available starting in late-February and June, respectively. Model start at approximately $1,499 and $799, respectively.

Google Launches $249 Samsung Chromebook

Google just launched the $249 11.6-inch ARM-based Samsung Chromebook. It's one of the lightest laptops on the market weighs only 2.5 pounds, 0.8-inches thick, more than 6 hours of battery life, supports 1080p video playback and comes with 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years.

Other specs includes - Samsung Exynos 5 Dual Processor, 2GB of RAM, VGA cam, Built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, HDMI port, Bluetooth, one USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port each.

LG unveils XNote N550 and N450 laptops

LG today unveiled the two laptops XNote N550 and XNote N450 in Korea. Both the models features the 3rd generation Intel Core i7/i5 processor, an AMD Radeon HD7650 graphics and a slim bezel design.

The XNote N550 (N550-TE50K) comes with 15-inch display with HD Plus resolution (1600×900) and One-touch buttons to convert any video into 3D while the N450 comes with a 14-inch screen and has 1366×768 resolution.

There is no word on pricing of XNote N550 but the N450 will be sold for around 1,690,000 Won.

Fujitsu today unveiled the 11.6-inch STYLISTIC Q702 business hybrid tablet and 13.3-inch LIFEBOOK T902 convertible tablet PC.

The STYLISTIC Q702 hybrid tablet powered by a 3rd Generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with 4GB DDR3 of RAM and 64 or 128 GB mSATA SSD storage. It weighs approximately 1.88 pound, features an 11.6-inch AH-IPS HD, biometric fingerprint sensor, Computrace support, HDD and BIOS password protection, embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM), Intel Anti-Theft Technology, and optional Intel vPro Technology, USB 2.0 and 3.0, HDMI, SD/SDHC ports on the tablet.

Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 Ultrabooks coming to the US for $680

Acer today announced the Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 line of Ultrabooks in the U.S. Available in 14- and 15.6-inch displays, is 0.81 inches thin and offers up to eight hours of battery life.

Depending on configuration, the Timeline Ultra Series offers 3rd Generation Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE dedicated graphics and 14-inch LCDs or 15.6-inch edge-to-edge displays, a 500GB HDD and a 20GB integrated solid state drive. It features two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, 1.3 megapixel HD webcam and also include Acer AntiTheft.

The Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M5 Series of Ultrabooks will be available in the U.S. beginning at the end of June. Prices begin at $679.99 and range up to $829.99.

Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook coming this month for $1,400, Aspire S3 gets updated with Ivy Bridge

Acer announced Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook back in January at CES, now, five months later, it's finally going on sale in the U.S. and will be available the last week of this month for $1,399. The Aspire S5-391-9880 is a 13.3-inch light weight Ultrabook with 1366 x 768 display powered by a 3rd Generation Intel Core i7 processor. It features a 256GB solid state drive, innovative MagicFlip I/O Port (pops out to reveal ingeniously hidden ports, such as USB 3.0, HDMI and Thunderbolt), a 1.3 megapixel HD webcam and is Acer's first product in the U.S. to ship with AcerCloud (allows user with remote access to the digital data residing on their Ultrabook via their Android tablet or smartphone).
