
Indian Telecom operator BSNL and Pantel announced that it would bring three tablets. Out of three, the cheapest one (T-PAD IS701R ) to be sold for Rs 3,250 ($66), few hundred rupees more than commercial Aakash tablet but with better specs.
The 7-inch cheapest tablet - BSNL Penta T-PAD IS701R is powered by 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, running Android 2.3, has 7-inch resistive touch screen (TFT Display), 0.3MP camera, a HDMI port, WiFi, 2GB in-built memory expandable upto 32GB and 3000mAh battery.

Another 7-inch tablet from BSNL Penta T-Pad WS704C running Android 2.3 (upgradable to Android 4.0) on 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, an integrated SIM card and 4 GB of internal flash storage. It also has 0.3MP Front and 2MP Rear camera, Bluetooth, microSD slot, GPS ,1080p over HDMI and 4000mAH polymer battery. The price is Rs 10,999 ($224 ).

Third tablet from BSNL and Pantel is Penta T-Pad WS802C. The white 8-inch model running same Android 2.3 on Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor with 512MB RAM an has 4GB internal memory.All other specs are same as T-Pad WS704C and it cost Rs 13,500 ($275).
Pre-booking of all three tablet already started. BSNL will offer each of the three slates with a 5 GB 3G data plan for Rs 750 ($15.27) or 7.5 GB 2G plan for Rs 245 ($5).
