Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 hit AT&T on November 9th

AT&T today announced that the Samsung ATIV smart PC, a new Windows 8 tablet and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, a 4G LTE Android tablet will be available at AT&T retail stores beginning November 9th. The Samsung ATIV smart PC will be priced at $799.99 and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will be available for $499.99.

Samsung ATIV smart PC has an 11.6-inch HD PLS display, 64GB of internal storage memory and a microSD card slot to support up to an additional 32GB of memory and the Intel Atom dual-core processor, up to 1.5 GHz. ATIV smart PC comes installed with Windows 8 (which can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro). It is also backward compatible and supports all existing software and applications that run on older windows OS such as Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

Samsung Mobile and AT&T are offering the following accessories3 to get the most out of the ATIV smart PC:

  • Stand Dock – Dock the ATIV smart PC in the Stand Dock to turn any environment into a personal office. In addition to providing a charge when docked, the Stand Dock is equipped with a built-in USB port and Ethernet (RJ45) port to connect the ATIV smart PC to LAN and various USB peripherals.
  • VGA Adapter – Expand your workstation and give presentations with ease with the VGA Adapter (micro HDMI to VGA connectivity). Use the VGA Adapter to connect the ATIV smart PC to external displays, monitors and projectors for second-screen viewing and enhanced productivity.
  • Additional accessories will also be available.

Beginning in late November online at www.wireless.att.com, the ATIV smart PC Stand Dock will be available for $49.00 and the VGA adapter will be available for $40.00.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is a 4G LTE Android 4.0 tablet offers a 10.1-inch display and premium entertainment options including Media Hub, Smart Remote and AllShare Play. Features like on-device encryption and VPN access ensure the tablet is secure for business use, while the 7000 mAh battery allows for all-day connectivity.

Lenovo unveils Ideatab S2110A, A2107A and A2109A

Lenovo today announced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered Ideatab S2110A, A2107A, and A2109A.

At just 8.69mm and only 580g, Ideatab S2110A is a 10-inch premium entertainment tablet with an optional detachable keyboard dock to provide a true PC+ experience that moves easily between the tablet and PC worlds. The tablet’s IPS (In-Plane Switching) screen with 178-degree viewing angle and unique 10-point multi-touch display is ideal for two-player gaming, and a Micro-HDMI port enables full HD viewing of 1080p on an HDTV. When attached to the keyboard dock, the S2110A delivers double battery life for up to 20 hours of activity, as well as an SD card reader and USB ports to connect a thumb drive, external hard drive or mouse. Dell announces XPS 10, XPS Duo 12 and XPS One 27

Today at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) conference, Dell unveiled the XPS 10, a 10-inch tablet built to support WindowsRT; the XPS Duo 12 convertible that combines two devices in one, a powerful Ultrabook plus full featured tablet; and XPS One 27 all-in-one PC, which offers a stunning Wide Quad HD display, and will soon be available with touch functionality.

The Dell XPS 10, XPS Duo 12 and XPS One 27 will be available for sale when Windows 8 is available at the end of October. More details on pricing will be announced when available.

Vodafone has revealed the Asus TF700KL LTE, a new LTE-enabled tablet which offers a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a 8-megapixel camera running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a height of just 9 millimeters and can be used with an optional keyboard dock like a notebook. The Asus tablet is now available at a price of 819.90 Euro (with a data plan from 169.90 Euro) available in all Vodafone stores.

Lenovo Announces ThinkPad Tablet 2 for Windows 8

Lenovo today unveiled its first tablet specifically designed for Windows 8, the ThinkPad Tablet 2. This 10.1-inch tablet running Windows 8 includes an Intel atom processor, a 1,366 x 768 IPS display, a 10-hour battery, optional 3G / 4G, micro-HDMI output, 8MP rear and 2MP front camera.

The multi-use tablet boasts differentiators that matter, including an optional digitizer and pen for precision input, 3G wireless with Lenovo Mobile Access pay-as-you-go plans and 4G models, along with security features like a Fingerprint Reader, IT manageability technologies, and corporate-level service and support.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 will be available when Windows 8 launches in October.

RIM launches 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet, Available in Canada on August 9th

Research In Motion (RIM) today launched the new 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with built-in support for cellular networks. With support for 4G LTE networks, 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet features a 7-inch LCD display (1024x600), a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, pre-loaded with OS 2.0.1 (which is also now available for Wi-Fi PlayBook owners as a maintenance update), a 5MP HD rear camera and 3MP HD camera on front.

Other features includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n,  Micro USB port, micro HDMI port and Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR.

The 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will come with 32GB of memory storage and will be available from Bell, Rogers and TELUS in Canada on August 9, 2012. Additional variants of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet supporting various high speed cellular networks are expected to be available in the coming months from carriers in the US, Europe, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Lenovo released a basic non-customized, region-independent Vanilla version of Android 4.03 aka Ice Cream Sandwich for IdeaPad K1 customers who want to get rid of Honeycomb.

This release is generally not recommended for the casual or mainstream user who is unfamiliar with the Android OS and customizing it. The source code, which may be of additional value to the developer community, will be made available shortly. Further OTA updates are not planned for this release.

Fujitsu today unveiled the 11.6-inch STYLISTIC Q702 business hybrid tablet and 13.3-inch LIFEBOOK T902 convertible tablet PC.

The STYLISTIC Q702 hybrid tablet powered by a 3rd Generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with 4GB DDR3 of RAM and 64 or 128 GB mSATA SSD storage. It weighs approximately 1.88 pound, features an 11.6-inch AH-IPS HD, biometric fingerprint sensor, Computrace support, HDD and BIOS password protection, embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM), Intel Anti-Theft Technology, and optional Intel vPro Technology, USB 2.0 and 3.0, HDMI, SD/SDHC ports on the tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 up for pre-order at $250, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Player 4.2 gets Price and Release date

Samsung announced the two Galaxy Tab 2 models along with two new Galaxy Players. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 available in both 10.1-inch and 7.0-inch screen sizes, are powerful dual-core tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich will cost $249.99 and $399.99 respectively.

The new Galaxy Player 4.2 joins the just released Galaxy Player 3.6, available in 4.2 inch WVGA screen or 3.6 inch HVGA screen variants running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, will cost $199.99 and $149.99.

The new Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy Players will be available for purchase at a variety of retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct and others.

The Galaxy Player 3.6 is available now exclusively at Best Buy and soon at other retailers and The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is also up for preorder at $249.99, and will be available for purchase on April 22nd.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Player 4.2 will both be available for pre-order on May 4th and for purchase on May 13th.

Toshiba intros Excite 7.7, Excite 10 and Excite 13 Android 4.0 Tablets

Toshiba today announced the three Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets - Excite 13, Excite 10 and Excite 7.7  featuring quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, Gorilla Glass protection and a 5-megapixel camera on the back, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The Excite 13 tablet (image on top) has a 13.3-inch diagonal AutoBrite LED Backlit display with 10-finger touch support, 1600x900 resolution and delivers up to 13 hours of battery life. It also includes Micro USB, Micro HDMI ports and a full-size SD card slot. It will be available for purchase on June 10, 2012 for $649.99 (32GB model) and $749.99 for the 64GB model. The Excite 10 tablet features a bright, high definition 10.1-inch diagonal AutoBriteLED Backlit display with 1280x800 resolution and 10-finger multi-touch support, Measuring just 0.35 inches thin and weighing just 1.32 pounds and delivers up to 10 hours of battery life and seven days of stand-by. HCL unveils ME U1 and MyEdu Android 4.0 ICS Tablet, starting Rs 7,999

HCL today launched two new Android 4.0 ICS tablets - HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEdu Tab. HCL ME U1 has been introduced with a price of Rs 7,999 ($158) while the HCL MyEdu Tab - K12 version is priced at Rs 11,499 ($226).

The HCL ME U1 tablet is powered by Android OS 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich and packed with 17 local ready to use applications. It sports a 7 inch 800X480px Capacitive Screen, a 1Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory expandable to 32GB. It also features WiFi, a full USB, mini USB and a micro SD card slot and a 3600 mAH battery.

On the other hand MyEduTab aims at personalized learning while helping the students to understand concepts at their own pace. MyEduTab will be available in two versions: MyEduTab - K12 priced at Rs. 11,499, includes the price of the device, content and a memory card while educational applications and NCERT books will be free. MyEduTab - Higher Education (HE) version is priced at Rs. 9, 999 ($197).

MyEduTab features the similar specs as of U1 Tab and both tablets will be available in stores and for educational institutes in Delhi and across the country from April 2012 onwards.
