Apple made its second generation iPad official! iPad 2 features an entirely new design that is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than the original iPad, while maintaining the same stunning 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. iPad 2 will be available Tomorrow

Apple today announced that iPad 2 will be available tomorrow at 5 p.m. local time at all 236 Apple retail stores in the US and through the Apple Store (www.apple.com) beginning at 1 a.m. PT.

Every customer who buys an iPad 2 at an Apple retail store will be offered free Personal Setup service, helping them customize their iPad 2 by setting up email, loading new apps from the App Store and more, so they’ll be up and running with their new iPad 2 before they leave the store. iPad 2 will also be available beginning at 5 p.m. local time at AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select Apple Authorized Resellers.

iPad 2, iPhone 5 and Apple TV 3 Hardware Specs leaked

Engadget got some concrete information from reliable sources about the next iPad, iPhone and, surprisingly, a third iteration of the company’s hobby - the Apple TV.

iPad 2 

iPad 2 will feature dual cameras, a “super high-resolution” display, an SD card slot (placed where it was believed iPad 2 had a larger speaker built-in), and a dual GSM/CDMA chip made by Qualcomm.

iPhone 5

iPhone 5 -- a completely redesigned handset running atop Apple's new A5 CPU (a Cortex A9-based, multi-core chip). This device, like the iPad 2, will feature a Qualcomm chipset that does triple duty as the CDMA / GSM / UMTS baseband processor.

Apple TV 3

Apple TV 3--the second generation of its redesigned Apple TV, which will include that new A5 processor. The CPU is said to be blazingly fast, cranking out 1080p video “like running water.”

Dev-Team Jailbreaks iPad 2

The iPhone Dev-Team has managed to jailbreak Apple’s iPad 2. The  development community credits @comex with installing Cydia on this white iPad 2 but it is still unclear whether comex has achieved what is known as an ‘untethered’ jailbreak or not?

Right now all we know is what the picture above shows: a white WiFi+3G iPad 2 running Cydia - the jailbroken alternative to Apple’s App Store. Also noticeable is that the device is running on Verizon’s network.

Samsung sees iPad 2 thinness, reconsiders pricing

Samsung Electronics, sees the slim design and competitive price of Apple's new iPad 2 as its biggest obstacles, a senior official said Friday.

   Apple unveiled the latest generation of the iPad tablet computer this week, touted by its chief executive officer Steve Jobs as "dramatically thinner" than its previous model.

   The iPad 2 is one-third slimmer than its predecessor at 8.8 millimeters, compared with Samsung's latest 10.9-millimeter tablet computer announced last month.

   Lee Don-joo, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile division, said that Apple has presented new challenges for the South Korean company with a thinner mobile gadget that is priced the same as its predecessor.

   "We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate," Lee told Yonhap News Agency. "Apple made it very thin."

   Samsung also made its latest Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer larger, faster and thinner than the 7-inch original Galaxy Tab. But the new, larger screen comes at a price.

   The 7-inch Galaxy Tab was priced at nearly US$900 without a two-year contract from mobile operators, while the price of the iPad 2 starts at $499, with the most expensive model costing $829. Samsung did not announce the pricing details for the 10.1-inch tablet.

   "The 10-inch (tablet) was to be priced higher than the 7-inch (tablet) but we will have to think that over," Lee added.

   Samsung, which was one of the companies singled out by Jobs as competitors making "copycat" products, sold 2 million Galaxy Tab tablet computers during the four months since October 2010. Apple sold 15 million iPads in the April-December period.

Sanho Announces 2nd Iteration Of HyperDrive iPad-compatible Hard Drive

iOS 5 includes Twitter Integration, Notification Center and over 200 New Features

Additional new features in iOS 5 include:

• Game Center, now with the ability to add photos to your profile, purchase new games from within the Game Center app and easier ways to find friends and new games;
• Mail enhancements which include the ability to compose messages using draggable addresses, and a new formatting bar with bold, italics, underline and indention controls;
• AirPlay Mirroring to wirelessly display everything you do on your iPad 2 right on your HDTV through Apple TV; and
• a system-wide split keyboard to make it even easier to type on your iPad.

The iOS 5 beta software and SDK are available immediately for iOS Developer Program members at developer.apple.com. iOS 5 will be available as a free software update for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, iPod touch (fourth generation) and iPod touch (third generation) this fall. Apple new iPad Arrives in China on July 20th

Apple today announced the new iPad, will arrive in China on Friday, July 20th. The new iPad features a stunning new Retina display, Apple’s new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics for capturing amazing photos and 1080p HD video. The new iPad still delivers the same all-day 10 hour battery life while remaining amazingly thin and light.

The new iPad Wi-Fi models will be available in black or white for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model and $699 (US) for the 64GB model.

The iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model.

In China the new iPad will be available through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), select Apple Authorized Resellers and by reservation from Apple retail stores. Reservation requests will be accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. beginning Thursday, July 19 for pick up the following day. Additionally, iPad 2 is available at a more affordable price starting at just $399 (US).
