Google+ adding games from Zynga, Rovio

Google is adding games to its new social-networking service from developers such as Zynga and Rovio Entertainment. "We want to make playing games online just as fun, and just as meaningful, as playing in real life," the announcement says.

Vic Gundotra says "Games in Google+ are there when you want them and gone when you don’t." Games titles which are currently available on Google+ includes Angry Birds, Bejeweled Blitz, Zynga Poker, Sudoku, Bubble island, Dragon of Atlantis, City of Wonder, Crime City, Diamond Dash, Collapse! Blast, Wild Ones, Zombie Lane, Monster World and Flood-it! and Edge World.

Android 3.1 OTA update for G- Slate rolling out

If you’re waiting for G-Slate’s Android 3.1 update then your wait is over. The OTA update is rolling out now. The update will be delivered in a staggered fashion to all G-Slate user’s. A notice will appear on your tablet when the update is available for you to install.

Android 3.1 allows customers to enjoy the tablet experience even more by adding user interface enhancements and features, including:

  • Google Videos - A new Videos app has been added that allows you to buy and rent movies.
  • Recent apps list expanded - The recent apps list has been expanded to show all apps recently used. After opening the apps list, touch one of the apps to access it.
  • Home screen resizable widgets - Widgets built-in to Android 3.0 (Calendar, Email, Gmail, etc.) can now be resized vertically or horizontally on any one of the five home screens.
  • USB accessory support - Customers can now attach a keyboard, pointing device, or gamepad to the G-Slate for use with typing, gaming, etc.

In addition to the enhancements, this software update is expected to improve the following:

  • Force close issues in the Google Talk and Music applications
  • Improved browser and widget responsiveness

Lenovo announced today the ThinkPad Edge 14-inch E425 and 15.6-inch E525 laptops for small-to-medium businesses (SMB) and the ThinkVision LT1421 Wide, the company’s first mobile monitor that gives mobile professionals a second screen for on-the-go use to display spreadsheets and make presentations.

Acer expands its Acer Iconia Tab line of tablets with its first 7-inch tablet – Acer Iconia Tab A100 and the industry's first 7-inch tablet running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) – in the United States and Canada.

The Acer Iconia Tab A100 tablet, comes pre-installed with Adobe Flash Player 10.3, so Adobe Flash games and websites can be enjoyed right out of the box.

Weighing in at a mere 0.92 pounds and measuring only a half-inch thick, the Acer Iconia Tab A100 has a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of memory, and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. But this is the first Tegra 2 tablet with a 7-inch display. It also includes-a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports.

BlackBerry Torch 9850 coming to Sprint on August 21st

Sprint recently recently announced that they would be offering latest smartphone from RIM, BlackBerry Torch 9850 and BlackBerry Bold 9930 but didn’t mentioned any price and date of availability, only stating they would be available “this fall” .

According to the guys over at CrackBerry, the release date for the BlackBerry Torch 9850 has now been confirmed via the Sprint Playbook as the 21st of August and comes with a price tag of $149.99 with 2 year contract or $449.99 without contract.
