AT&T introduces new postpaid billing options for Tablets

AT&T today introduced convenient new postpaid billing options for tablets.  Beginning today, customers can choose between AT&T’s existing prepaid billing options or the new postpaid plans.  The new plans can be added to customers’ existing monthly wireless statements, offering the simplicity of a single monthly bill.  For a limited time, customers who activate a new postpaid $25/2 GB plan will receive the first month free.

The new postpaid billing option will be available across AT&T retail locations, as well as att.com, Best Buy, Fry’s, select Nexcom locations, and Walmart stores nationwide.

Customers may choose from the following options.

  • Postpaid:  $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB.  Customers on the 2 GB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment will be charged $10 per 1 GB of overage.  Charges will appear on customers’ monthly wireless statements.
  • Prepaid:  $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB.  Customers on the 2 GB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment may choose to purchase an additional 2 GB for $25.  Charges will appear on customers’ credit card statements.

Both options are month-to-month and do not require a long-term commitment.

Nokia Lumia 900 coming to AT&T on April 8th for $100

The Nokia Lumia 900, the Windows Phone will be available exclusively in the U.S. from AT&T on April 8 for $99.99 with 2 year contract.

The Nokia Lumia 900 has a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack Display (800X480), a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8055 + MDM9200 processor, a 512MB RAM,running Mango Commercial Release 2 (Mango + LTE) (Windows Phone 7.5) and has an 16GB of internal storage.  If we talk about camera, there's an 8-megapixel primary camera with a 28mm f/2.2 Carl Zeiss lens and 1-megapixel with an f2.4 lens and 30fps capture front-facing camera. There’s a 1840mAH battery which will last for about 7hrs talk-time and up to 300hrs on standby. Other features include, a Bluetooth, WiFi,  USB 2.0 high-speed and A-GPS.

AT&T Introduces Unlimited Calling to Any Mobile Number

Go ahead and dial up those digits--no matter which wireless network you're calling. AT&T today announced customers can enjoy unlimited mobile calling to any mobile number in America. Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile is available to AT&T customers with an unlimited messaging plan and a qualifying voice plan.

Beginning Thursday, Mobile to Any Mobile will be available to new and existing AT&T customers with a qualifying voice plan who subscribe to unlimited messaging plans. Existing customers with an unlimited messaging plan can activate Mobile to Any Mobile by visiting www.att.com/anymobile. The URL will be available beginning Thursday.

Unlimited messaging is available for $20 per month on an individual plan and $30 per month for a FamilyTalk Plan, which allows for up to five lines.

Motorola Atrix 4G Gingerbread Update now Available

Motorola Atrix 4G Gingerbread (2.3.4) update now available on Motorola support site for AT&T users. It’s not an automatic over-the-air (OTA) update but you have to manually download 161 MB update and install it.

How to Upgrate Motorola Atrix 4G to Gingerbread (2.3.4)?

MUST READ BEFORE PROCEEDING:

Requirements needed to ensure a successful upgrade.

  1. A fully charged MOTOROLA ATRIX with MOTOBLUR with an active SIM card
  2. A microSD card installed in your phone with approximately 200 MB of free space.
  3. Your phone is on the latest Android 2.2 software (Blur_Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US)
  4. To ensure optimal performance after the upgrade, the phone software must not have been modified in any way.

a. Download the file (161 MB) and save to your computer as "Blur_Version.4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US".

b. The file can be saved on your computer or directly on the microSD Card

NOTE: Some Internet Browsers (e.g. Safari and Chrome) can be configured to automatically extract downloaded zip files. Please ensure the file is not unzipped after saving it. The upgrade requires use of the zipped file.

c. Drag and drop the download zip file onto your microSD. It must be at the top level of the microSD card -- it cannot be in a sub-folder. (Unmount SD Card from your computer and unplug your USB cable from your phone.)

INSTALLING..

Make sure your battery is fully charged so that you don't run out of power during the upgrade process.

To install the upgrade:

  1. From the home screen, press Menu, select Settings,
  2. Scroll down and select About Phone.
  3. Select System upgrades.
  4. After a couple of minutes, your device will confirm the upgrade is available.
  5. The Copy prompt will appear. Select “Copy
  6. The Install upgrade prompt will appear. Select Install Now.
  7. Your device will power off and display installation progress.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Please ensure you are aware of the following information after the installation of the package
  • It will then power up and stay on the carrier logo for up to 5 minutes before powering on to the home screen.
  • Please do not interrupt this process.
  • Contacts and email from Google and MOTOBLUR may take up to 60 minutes to synchronize. The phone may appear slower during this initial synchronization process.

AT&T announced LG Thrill 4G android phone and HTC HD7S with WP7

AT&T announced two new leading-edge smartphones, the LG Thrill 4G and the HTC HD7S.

HTC HD7S

The LG Thrill 4G  running the first dual-core, dual-channel 1 GHz processor in the U.S. and based on the Android 2.2 platform, LG Thrill 4G will be among the first to deliver a glasses-free 3D experience to U.S. customers and will allow users to shoot 3D video and 3D stills with the dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic camera. In addition to apps and games from Android Market, LG Thrill 4G will offer 3D content via the "LG 3D Space," which houses 3D games, video clips and images for quick, convenient access.

Preloaded with 16 GB of memory (8 GB onboard plus an 8 GB MicroSD card), the LG Thrill 4G will record 3D video at 720p resolution and 2D at 1080p quality. The smartphone will be able to play video back in high definition through the HDMI-out port on the device or stream content wirelessly through DLNA technology

LG Thrill 4G will be exclusive to AT&T customers and reach AT&T stores in the coming months

HTC HD7S

Windows Phone with its 4.3-inch, WVGA, super LCD display, 1 GHz processor and 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. In addition, with the preloaded U-verse Mobile application, qualifying AT&T U-verse customers can download and watch hit TV shows on their Windows Phone. Non-U-verse customers can subscribe to U-verse Mobile for $9.99 a month and choose from a broad selection of programming to watch on their Windows Phone.

The HTC HD7S will be available in company-owned AT&T retail locations and online at www.wireless.att.com in the coming weeks.

Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 hit AT&T on November 9th

AT&T today announced that the Samsung ATIV smart PC, a new Windows 8 tablet and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, a 4G LTE Android tablet will be available at AT&T retail stores beginning November 9th. The Samsung ATIV smart PC will be priced at $799.99 and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will be available for $499.99.

Samsung ATIV smart PC has an 11.6-inch HD PLS display, 64GB of internal storage memory and a microSD card slot to support up to an additional 32GB of memory and the Intel Atom dual-core processor, up to 1.5 GHz. ATIV smart PC comes installed with Windows 8 (which can be upgraded to Windows 8 Pro). It is also backward compatible and supports all existing software and applications that run on older windows OS such as Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

Samsung Mobile and AT&T are offering the following accessories3 to get the most out of the ATIV smart PC:

  • Stand Dock – Dock the ATIV smart PC in the Stand Dock to turn any environment into a personal office. In addition to providing a charge when docked, the Stand Dock is equipped with a built-in USB port and Ethernet (RJ45) port to connect the ATIV smart PC to LAN and various USB peripherals.

AT&T to offer Unlimited Talk, Text and Web Plan for $50, Starting June 26th

AT&T GoPhone customers can now take advantage of a new unlimited talk, text and web nationwide plan for $50 per month. Unlimited text and instant messaging to Mexico, Canada and 100 other countries are also included at no additional cost.

Smartphone customers can choose unlimited talk and text for $50 and select one of three data package options from $5 to $25.

Earlier this month, AT&T announced the new Pantech P7040p, a stylish quick messaging phone, would also be available on June 26 in company-owned retail stores for $59.99. With a full keyboard, the Pantech P7040p is ideal for maximizing the value of this new plan.

AT&T announced that the HTC One X featuring new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available from exclusively form AT&T in "coming months". HTC One X will be one of the first phones in the U.S. to feature HTC Sense 4 and also marks the first occasion a Beats by Dr. Dre-powered handset has made an appearance on AT&T. Other than that HTC One X features the same a 4.7-inch 720p HD screen, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 8MP camera.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note official, pre-order starts on February 5th

Previously announced at AT&T’s Developer Summit leading up to the International CES earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy Note arrives in carbon blue and ceramic white at AT&T stores beginning February 19th for $299.99 with a two-year agreement.
