As promised by HTC, HTC bootloader unlocking process is live. Right now, it’s open for HTC Sensation (European) only. If you live in Europe, own HTC Sensation and want to unlock bootloader? now you can do it by following simple process from HTC (as shown in above image above).
Unfortunately, owners of HTC EVO 3D (Sprint) and HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile USA) will have to sit back and wait while further testing is conducted on their devices.

HTC, in recent update on its facebook page explains the bootloader unlock process with new Web based tool but for this freedom you need to accept a disclaimer notifying you that "all or parts" of your warranty may be null and void. HTC CEO Chou reiterated that updates for the HTC Sensation and HTC EVO 3D will come later this month, making them the first devices eligible to unlock bootloader using web-based tool. Hey! I'm not joking. HTC has released the unlock bootloader for HTC Dream (aka T-Mobile G1).
It’s really good to see HTCDev team showing their commitment to unlock bootloaders and also including its old, unsupported devices in the unlocking program when they didn’t have too. Good job HTCDev Team!

Motorola announced the availability of the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition with unlockable bootloader,which is now available for pre-order in Europe for €499. Motorola doesn’t mentioned any exact date, when it will start shipping but promises this smartphone will make it to the US as well “in the coming months”.
The Motorola RAZR Developer Edition ships with no warranty (seriously, not for everyone) and features the same specs as of Motorola RAZR. We seriously don’t understand what’s the need of selling smartphone with same specs, better if Motorola provides a tool like HTC to unlock bootloader for existing Motorola RAZR customers but anyways if you’re interested checkout the links below.

On the facebook page, HTC has revealed that its bootloader unlocking software update will begin rolling out to in August for the global HTC Sensation, followed by the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile USA and the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint.
Here is, what they said "We’re thrilled to announce today that software updates to support bootloader unlocking will begin rolling out in August for the global HTC Sensation, followed by the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile USA and the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint. We’re in the testing phase for the unlocking capability now, and we expect it to be fully operational by early September for devices that have received the software updates. We'll continue rolling out the unlocking capability over time to other devices as part of maintenance releases and new shipments."

The HTC Developer site (htcdev.com) announced earlier in June, now goes Live. This new developer portal from HTC allows developers to access a range of tools to write apps for HTC’s smartphones and tablets using HTC OpenSense SDK that provides APIs for Common Controls, the Stereoscopic 3D display, and the Tablet Pen.
In addition to the OpenSense framework, HTCDev.com is also a new home for all HTC kernel source and ROM update downloads, various FAQs and Bootloader Unlock tool, one of the most highly anticipated pieces of software that the company's promised to unleash, only shows as "coming soon" on the site.
Good news for HTC lovers, HTC’s controversial policy of locking bootloaders is no more. HTC CEO Peter Chou said on HTC's Facebook page -- that future devices will be open.
"There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we've listened. Today, I'm confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience," Peter Chou, CEO of HTC
Sony Mobile released the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Beta ROM for selected Xperia range. Sony has made a number of improvements to the ROM, including an updated UI, improved lockscreen, activated GSM modem and FM radio and a quick dial.
Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps (for example Gmail, Google Maps and Face Unlock), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are NOT included in the beta release due to that they are still waiting for the certification and type approval to be finalised.
This beta update from Sony Mobile is only released for three handsets (the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray). You need to be running software version number 4.0.2.A.0.42 before upgrading and must have bootloader unlocked .

Shocked! Motorola Atrix 4G already rooted and its not even out yet. Credit goes to a member of ever-resourceful XDA forum.
Atrix users will be able to take full control of their devices on launch day but unfortunately the bootloader remains firmly locked and presumably encrypted given Moto's track record, so custom kernels are still just a dream.
